Stone Island Heat Reactive Bomber Jacket Video
To accompany the Spring/Summer 2011 collection, Stone Island released a video to present the Heat Reactive Jacket. A hooded bomber jacket in cotton nylon canvas covered with thermosensitive liquid crystals, the garments changes colors according to the wearer's body temperature - the warmer, the lighter the jacket turns and conversely, the cooler, the darker.
Think....a wearable mood ring. I wonder if it can tell me what mood I'm in too. Amazing!

Gareth Pugh on Fashion Films Vs. Fashion Shows
Avante Garde designer Gareth Pugh spoke to BoF founder Imran Amed in Florence, Italy at Pitti Immagine about fashions films vs. fashion shows. Gareth Pugh stated "I’m not saying that I’m never going to do a fashion show again. I’m not saying fashion film is the future. It’s just an idea…and it’s nice to have the option to do both.” It's definitely nice to have options.
Pugh projected his F/W 2011 collection film at Pitti on the ceiling of a 14th century church and it was received with critical acclaim. To see the film and my coverage of it, click here.

Dunhill Presents: Min Kyu Choi "The Flat Plug"

It's always interesting to hear people talk about design. Here, Dunhill featured industrial designer Min Kyu Choi and his design of "the flat plug". I love that he talks about design as function...which has always been a personal design philosophy of mine. I hate to see a design that's all about added details that serves no purpose or reason. DECORATIONS = no good... especially in menswear.
Form follows function and so does good design.
From Dunhill:
"Designer Min Kyu Choi is a billionaire in waiting.
Discover his award winning redesign of the UK three pin plug - the first since its post World War Two creation. A solution so simple and so elegant that it is set to displace every plug that came before it."

Ralph Lauren's 4D presentation in Celebration of POLO.Com's 10 year Anniversary!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY POLO.COM!
EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF RALPH....STOP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING AND WATCH THESE VIDEOS. Trust me, you will enjoy it.
In celebration of Polo.com's 10 year anniversary, the NYC and the London Ralph Lauren flagships held identical 4-dimensional installations on the facades of the buildings. This is the first time 4-D technology has been used in this capacity and probably the first time most people has been exposed to this technology (I was lucky enough to have been exposed to 4-D this past summer when I went to the Taiwan pavillion's 4D sphere theatre at the SHANGHAI WORLD EXPO 2010. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!). The videos below can not begin to describe how amazing it truly is!
