Siki Im Fall / Winter 2013 Menswear Runway

Siki Im cites Italo Calvino's If On A Winter's Night A Traveler for his inspiration for Fall / Winter 2013 season.  True to what I expect from Siki Im, the looks are a masterful mix of blending hard, structured elements with soft, draped layering.  Somber hues, wrapped silhouettes, and extremely awesome styling describes the resulting collection.

Tim Coppens Fall / Winter 2013 Menswear Runway

I'm a huge fan of Tim Coppens for his athletic meets luxe aesthetic.  In fact, it's very much my own aesthetic as well.  For Fall / Winter 2013 menswear runway (his first major runway collection), he pulled inspiration from his childhood - skateboard gear, graffiti, and his father's hand-me-downs.  The results were sophisticated, technical, and slightly futuristic.  Love the volume and structured tops over the slim bottom silhouettes and also the slight pops of inky blues and ox blood mixed in with jet black, charcoals and whites.

Very much a collection after my own heart and wallet.  Check it out below:

Rag & Bone Fall / Winter 2013 Menswear Runway + Video

Rag & Bone Fall / Winter 2013 menswear collection is somewhat inspired by 70s futurism.  A bit Star Trek and almost too nostalgic in the approach, I unfortunately have to say that I was extremely underwhelmed by this showing.  In a palette of olives, browns, and icy blues...it was almost a non-palette - It's NEITHER/OR and that's a horrible place to be.  Honestly, the pop of the orange lining just wasn't enough to save it.  Also, the treatments/silhouettes were also too clean for me to appreciate them from Rag & Bone.  Is it just my own expectations because I love R&B and expected better from them?

Don't get me wrong... it's an extremely straight forward collection that have commercial success.  But, there isn't really anything here that compels/excites me.

Check out the looks and video below and let me know what you think:
