Eastpak collaborates with Wood Wood for an amazing accessories collection.  Titled Modulation, the collection will pre-drop in store in limited stores like OKI-NI, Hunting and Collection and all Wood Wood stores by DECEMBER 15th (2 days from now)!!!

Perfect.  Need some of these items under the Christmas Tree this year!

Bottega Veneta HAND OF THE ARTISAN - THE KNOT RETROSPECTIVE Video

My favorite Bottega Veneta releases another video as part of their HAND OF THE ARTISAN series.  This one is devoted to the idea of the knot and the making of a women's clutch titled THE KNOT RETROSPECTIVE.

I love this because it reminds us of the time and the work that goes into producing these luxury goods.  In the hands of skilled artisans....magic truly happens!

Dazed & Confused Exclusive Mr. Hare Film

From London based men's footwear brand, Mr. Hare, and one of my favorite fashion magazines, Dazed & Confused, comes this short film by Ruta Balseviciute.  

From the release:

"In our exclusive short film with the talented men's shoe designer, Mr. Hare, we learn about his much-loved London-based label from its early days to its latest ventures in sneakers.  Only three years into his shoe making empire, Marc Hare has taken the massive step of opening up his own Mayfair store.  Situated just off Dover Street, the store retails Mr. Hare's unique take on elegant male footwear - mixed in with his characteristic trainers."

First Look at Aldo Rise X Patrik Ervell Collaboration Video

Did you know that Aldo shoes had a high(er) end designer collaboration series called ALDO RISE?!   Neither did I!  Well, apparently, ALDO Rise has already done project with JW Anderson, Faster by Mark Fast, Preen, and even Libertine (how I missed it....one would never know!).  For Fall/Winter 2012, Aldo teams up with Patrik Ervell for capsule that I'm dying to see in person.  

From the release:

"ALDO RISE is excited to welcome New York-based award winning designer, Patrik Ervell, to its roster of world-class designers. Noted for his unconventional use of innovation and unusual materials such as vulcanized rubber, vintage parachutes, horsehair, and gold foil, Ervell translates his unique vision through signature combinations and innovation.

For Fall/Winter 2012 Patrik Ervell collaborated with ALDO RISE and direction M Blash to create a video reminiscent of sci-fi classics like Chris Marker's "La Jetee" and Ridley Scott's "Bladerunner."

"The Fall/Winter 12 collection had to do with uniforms that had a kind of police academy feeling," says Ervell.  "I think the video has a suggestion of that kind of a setting.  An academy of sorts but in an alternative world or possibly a future world.  ALso, watching people fly around in my clothes was pretty amazing."

Tod's No Code Fall / Winter 2012 Capsule Collection

Those who know me, know that Tod's is easily my favorite shoe brand.  No Code is a Fall / Winter 2012 capsule collection that speaks to the urban crossover by offering a range of lace ups, desert boots, chelsea boots and slipper styles that are modern and beautifully finished in Italy.  Photographer and Journalist Jefferson Hack shoots the campaign for this capsule.

Jas M.B. Spring / Summer 2012 Lookbook

You know that a perfect bag has a certain slouch when one puts it down that makes it just the "IT" bag?  There's just something about the way it sits that makes it so cool and so covetable.  For that reason, I've always been a big fan of British leather brand Jas M.B. for their updated utilitarian bags that have just the perfect amount of slouch.  

Known for their beautiful structure and practicality (read as you'll actually use it!), Jas M.B. have just dropped their Spring / Summer 2012 lookbook.   Here's what I'm eyeing.... 1)Hoof Large Stripe Cold Canvas tote 2)Folios and 3)the backpacks (the yellow one + the olive/black mixed media one)!

Should have bought more at their Taipei store when I was just there but there simply wasn't time.  Good thing you can find them online here.

Kris Van Assche once again joins Eastpak for a collaboration that we just are obsessed with for Spring / Summer 2012.  So clean, so minimal, and oh so cool...the pieces exude quintessentially Kris Van Assche's masculine luxury and modern approach to design.  7 designs in 3 fabric combinations and colors, can't wait to get my hands on these.

Mykita X Moncler Spring 2012 Sunglasses Collection Video : An Homage To The Mountains

I've been obsessed with all things Moncler lately and this Mykita X Moncler Spring 2012 sunglasses collection is pretty amazing.  Joining together to explore new territories in the world of eyewear, Moncler and Mykita made these new frames from polyamide-based MYLON, a material developed and patented by Mykita.   Can't wait to see them in stores!   

"MYKITA & Moncler both stand for innovative and unique products of the highest quality, coupled with traditionalist brand philosophies. The two companies to joined forces in a project which explores new territories in the world of eyewear.

In 1954 Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni became the first men to conquer the second highest mountain in the world, equipped with specially made down jackets by Moncler. A homage to the mountain and its conquerors was created in the form of the two sunglasses, LINO and ACHILLE, suitable for downhill runs and also as classic sunglasses for everyday use.

Made from the polyamide-based material MYLON, developed and patented by MYKITA, the frames are very light, extremely durable and individually adjustable to the wearer. Both models are available in the colours red, blue and in a classic black. Made By Hand video gives us an insight into the inner workings of hand making Persols.

Personally, I love learning about how things are made from just a pure design enthusiast stand point.  And hey, just in case I get into frames design, I think I am now just a bit more knowledgeable about it.  Gotta start thinking about building my brand empire and that has to include accessories (baby steps)!

All knowledge is good knowledge... right?
