Dior Homme Presents "The Players" - Fall / Winter 2013 Collection Film

Hi Everyone!

I love this Dior Homme Fall / Winter 2013 Collection film titled "The Players."  Directed by Willy Vanderperre and starring Ben Allen, Victor Nylander, and Jeroen Smits, the contrast of the highly minimalist and futuristic collection against the almost period setting is beautiful.  Perhaps the narrative is about a "tale of two eras".... the juxtaposition is simply stunning.

See the film below.  Also, film captures can be seen below too.

2013 Swarovski CFDA Award For Menswear Nominees

Hi Everyone....it's been a while!  As I've said, when there's something SUPER worthy of posting, I would jump right back on and post it.

So the CFDA awards are just around the corner and this year's nominees for the Swarovski Award for menswear are Todd Synder, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School and Tim Coppens. While all are very deserving of the award, I'm partial to Tim Coppens.  Go Tim!

Below is a short film by the CFDA that highlights the designers' perspectives, backgrounds, inspirations, what it means to be recognized by the CFDA and the emotions that comes with such an accomplishment.

I honestly am so inspired by these designers and what they are doing.  ONE DAY...I hope it will be me.  In the meantime, I'm going to work my butt off till I get there.  Wish me luck!

...A Slight Hiatus...

Sorry for the lack of posts lately!

Besides being really crazy busy at work lately, I've been taking some time to re-examine my career path and whether where I am right now is going to get me to where I want to go.  So, taking some time off from the blog and focusing my efforts into getting myself back on track.....

Definitely thinking of getting back into contemporary and higher menswear design....so if you know of anyone looking or have any contacts I should chat with, please feel free to contact me!  Or if you know of any angel investors who wants to back a menswear brand....give me a shout as well!

This doesn't mean I won't be posting once in a while, because literally every night after working, I'm back online researching and looking.... so, if I come across something amazing, I'll be sure to let you all know.

In the meantime, please check out my portfolio and link to me on Linkedin as well!

You can also still find me active on instagram + pinterest.

Till the next post...thank you for your support and see you soon!

Siki Im Fall / Winter 2013 Menswear Runway

Siki Im cites Italo Calvino's If On A Winter's Night A Traveler for his inspiration for Fall / Winter 2013 season.  True to what I expect from Siki Im, the looks are a masterful mix of blending hard, structured elements with soft, draped layering.  Somber hues, wrapped silhouettes, and extremely awesome styling describes the resulting collection.

Check it out below for yourself:

Tim Coppens Fall / Winter 2013 Menswear Runway

I'm a huge fan of Tim Coppens for his athletic meets luxe aesthetic.  In fact, it's very much my own aesthetic as well.  For Fall / Winter 2013 menswear runway (his first major runway collection), he pulled inspiration from his childhood - skateboard gear, graffiti, and his father's hand-me-downs.  The results were sophisticated, technical, and slightly futuristic.  Love the volume and structured tops over the slim bottom silhouettes and also the slight pops of inky blues and ox blood mixed in with jet black, charcoals and whites.

Very much a collection after my own heart and wallet.  Check it out below:
