Porsche Driving In the Snow - Never Hibernate

From Beverly Hills Porsche:

Porsche is offering Canadian drivers a unique driving experience.

There are few things as exhilarating as driving a Porsche. So why would you want to hide it away for the winter? Whether you drive a Cayenne, Panamera, Boxster, Cayman or 911, every Porsche is engineered, raced and tested in the most extreme conditions to deliver power, performance and confidence all year round. With a little preparation, your Porsche can be an uncommonly gratifying way to experience winter.

"On a winter holiday, people usually take to the trails on two skis. But why not try four wheels for a change? In a Porsche, of course. You can choose the Precision course as an introduction to the Ice training category – right here in Canada. First of all, it teaches you the basics of driving in treacherous conditions. This will prepare you specifically for the situation in winter.

In the theory lessons, you learn the basics of driving safety and driving dynamics. The Porsche instructors work on special techniques with you for driving safely on snow and ice. In addition, you practice developing your so-called ‘muscle memory’. As in dangerous situations there isn’t generally enough time to think about the right reaction, you have to be able to depend on your intuition. Turning these reactions into reflexes means: practice, practice and yet more practice.

You learn effective braking, changing direction and hill starts on low traction surfaces. Naturally, as a standard part of the course, our instructors also make an individual assessment of your driving style."
