Vogue Hommes International: Fall / Winter 2012 Menswear Editorial

One of my favorite models Sean O'Pry stars in the Fall/Winter 2012 issues of Vogue Hommes International.  Cast in the roles of a classic American boy (shouldn't be too hard since O'Pry was born in Georgia), he plays football, fixes cars, and even reads a book with his own mother.  Beautifully shot by Kurt Markus, I love the resulting editorial.

Pendleton Fall / Winter 2012 Portland Menswear Lookbook

Pendleton Fall / Winter 2012 "Portland" menswear lookbook just dropped and we are pretty happy with it.  The aesthetic is classic americana with a twist...and apparently designed with Portland in mind (hence the name, duh!).  But, it definitely has a much wider appeal.

Currently coveting the blanket vest, blanket coat and the accessories!

Random thought.....speaking of Portland, I immediately think about Portlandia.  Perhaps they needed to put a bird on it. See here for reference.

Jür­gen Sch­abes Shoots Chris Sitzler

Well, not literally!  

Model Chris Sitzler just sat (or stood) for photographer Jür­gen Sch­abes for a vintage Americana inspired motif photo shoot.  I just love the modern interpretation of the Americana outfits set against the beautifully aged and slightly tattered vintage American flag.  

Key take aways for me here.... harem trousers, vests, blazers, linen & linen-like textured fabrics and the mandarin collar.  Also, white as a color - refreshing!

Arena Homme + : COWBOYS, RANGERS, BULLS Menswear Editorial

Since I work for an American heritage brand, I am always looking for images of "America" to inspire my work (and to use as mood board images...hehe).  This editorial in the latest issue of Arena Homme+ titled Cowboys, Rangers, Bulls shot by John Clang is a modern look at American life.  Shot against photographs of fast-paced city life, models Russell Giardina, David Hlinka, and Chris Petersen are dressed in relaxed, minimal silhouettes with cowboy hats in a palette of neutrals and muted hues.  Fashion editorial it definitely is....but the stark contrast between the relaxed cowboys against the urban backgrounds says so much more about us as a society.
