The Gallery LA X Beverly Hills Porsche FNO 2012 Event

Porsche + Fashion = A perfect combination don't you think?

I was lucky enough (Thank you Jay!) to be invited to The Gallery LA X Beverly Hills Porsche Fashion's Night Out (FNO) event this past Thursday, September 6, 2012.  From the get-go, I arrived to a packed crowed all waiting to get in and everyone was decked out to the nines (as they should be)!  Finally, an LA fashion event that isn't filled with T shirts and Jeans.  Beverly Hills Porsche and Marketing Director Jerome Huffschmidt definitely brought the class factor!   I believed by the end of the night, over 500 people were in attendance where the historic LA landmark (CLOCK MARKET) transformed into the location of the hottest runway shows of the season.  Another win for Mikey Koffman, the producer of L.A. Fashion Weekend & The Gallery LA.

Sponsored by Wella Professionals with beauty treatments from Nine Zero One Salon and Napoleon Perdis, California Apparel News, The LA Fashion magazine, and American Gentlemen were all present to show their support of the event. Drinks flowed freely throughout the night from Little Black Dress Vodka.  And while I think NOBU was suppose to be in the building, I never got a chance to taste any of the food.

For the fashion show, I sat in Seat B2-1 (second row... will be front row one day!) next to an editor from New York Magazine and Mickey Rourke and had a perfect view of the beautiful looks coming down the runway from designers Dina Bar-El and Anthony Franco.

I was particular drawn to the collection of Anthony Franco, showing tailored 3 piece suiting for men in innovative fabrications and glamorous evening gowns for his counterpart with a slight 007/Bond + Femme Fatale undertone.  The looks were sleek and polished, a bit 70's reminiscent of a Tom Ford aesthetic - glam, sexy, chic.

Overall, I had an amazing time at the event and felt so inspired and creatively rejuvenated, I went home and started to design my own collection.  Perhaps next year at this time, you'll get a chance to see my collection on a runway near you!

So, if you know any angel investors...haha...feel free to have them contact me!  Kidding but ACTUALLY NOT.  Quite serious about it!

FNO 2012 TONIGHT!

It's here, it's finally here!!!!  Fashion's Night Out is 4 years old and we should definitely celebrate it.  So, get out there, shop, wine, dine, and stimulate our fashion economy.  So many events globally this year that just sound amazing.  

For me, I'm heading to Beverly Hills Porsche for an event put together by The Gallery Los Angeles with Nobu (I die) transforming the space into one of Mr. Matsuhisa's famed eateries + a fashion show with some local LA designers including Anthony Franco and Dina Bar El.

Skingraft Spring / Summer 2013 Menswear Lookbook Preview

Love local LA brand Skingraft and here's a preview of their Spring / Summer 2013 menswear lookbook.  Mesh + leather....can't really go wrong there for that edgy look.  Personally, I'm looking at the trapunto stitched white biker....so chic.

Band of Outsiders Spring / Summer 2013 Menswear Lookbook

Quirky and smart sums up the looks of Band of Outsiders Spring / Summer 2013 Menswear collection. We are always up for the quirky antics that come from the creative team at Band of Outsiders and Scott Sternberg, and for Paris Fashion Week, they literally had model Brendan Ruck camped out in their set up from 9 am to 9 pm for the "Longest Show Ever" (Who said modeling was easy?!).  

I'm loving the reinterpretations of the argyles and all the allover prints.  The designers had a definite and intentional use of loungewear pieces to modernize the collection (I mean...pajamas suits are the IT suit right now right?).   All of this mixed with some slightly safari motifs makes for a fairly relaxed and casual offering that I can see fitting into my everyday wear.
