Umit Benan, in his second season at Trussardi, finds inspiration in British racing driver Jackie Stewart for Fall / Winter 2012 menswear collection. A heavily nostalgic collection using a rich autumn color palette, the looks are chic and a bit retro.
The jury is still out on whether I like this collection. If I pull the looks apart, the pieces are beautiful and more than covetable. But, together with the styling of the models...the collection feels very costumey. Umit Benan is usually quirky which I love. But this just felt off. Instead of a fashion show, this felt more like looks pulled together for a biographical film of Sir Jackie Steward.
What do you think? Is it just me? Agree or disagree?
