Duckie Brown Spring / Summer 2013 menswear collection takes a mature perspective on the idea of "punk" for the modern man. Raw denim, tartan prints, boxy shapes, and distressed/patchwork were all key concepts for the majority of the collection. It was a bit unexpected for me when the tailored pieces with the odd strapping started to show...just felt it was a bit disconnected. Playing with volume in the bottoms as we have come to expect from the design duo of Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, my favorite piece was perhaps the most surprising piece, a black denim bomber jacket that was draped and folded into a massive flower across the center front. A bit Viktor & Rolf in it's theatricality and scale/execution, but perhaps that's why it appealed to me.
