I love Korean label General Idea Fall / Winter 2012 menswear collection. Taking inspiration from 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France, specifically from the archival images of the hockey players, designer Bumsuk Choi tackles the intersection of menswear, street wear, and activewear. In a collection titled "After Games" I'm coveting trousers with knee pad details, varsity jackets with toggle buttons, and the lean/mean version of the puffer.
Quite honestly, the collection felt more mountaineering to me than hockey, but hey, good clothes are good clothes. The styling actually reminds me a bit of Band Of Outsiders FW11 collection except more quirky. Anyhoo, strong design emphasis on color blocking, mixed media, and puffers.
More looks below. What do you think?
