Jürgen Schabes Shoots Chris Sitzler

Well, not literally!

Model Chris Sitzler just sat (or stood) for photographer Jürgen Schabes for a vintage Americana inspired motif photo shoot.  I just love the modern interpretation of the Americana outfits set against the beautifully aged and slightly tattered vintage American flag.

Key take aways for me here.... harem trousers, vests, blazers, linen & linen-like textured fabrics and the mandarin collar.  Also, white as a color - refreshing!

Looks below.  Enjoy.

"The Best Vintage Store In The World." - J'Antique in Tokyo

Michael Williams over at A Continuous Lean just gave me another amazing reason to head over to Japan for a shopping trip/inspiration gathering. He just showed photos of one of the most amazing vintage stores he's ever visited and from the pictures, J'Antique looks like a dream come true.

Located in Nakameguro, J'Antique is a must stop for anyone interested in vintage goods, authentic vintage clothing, and overall knick knacks from days gone by. If you love hitting the swap meet for "finds", this is the place for you. Leave it up to the Japanese to offer the best in terms of vintage Americana...ironic isn't it?

Irons & Ducks - Vintage Never Looked So Good.

While I was in Vegas for Magic/ENK/Capsule a couple of weeks ago, one of the pleasant surprises was Irons & Ducks at (Capsule). Founded in the streets and alleys of Long Beach, CA, David Palos turned his weekend hobby into a full time enterprise. I had the chance to talk to David and see his pieces close up.

Each piece is unique and has a life to them. These one-of-a-kind industrial furniture/art have a history that you just can't find at any Pottery Barn/Crate&Barrel/Restoration Hardware. A lot of hard work and raw talent has gone into the buying and re-furbishing of these vintage industrial furniture. Plus, you need to have a great eye to spot these gems in their deteriorated state...and David definitely showed he has that.

(Capsule) and Stylesight announced a partnership to bring you Vintage by Stylesight and this was one of many magnificent finds Stylesight was able to introduce to the show. Others were Orange Crush Imports, Strongham Clothing & Supply Company, and Heller's Cafe.

There are so many pieces I want from Irons & Ducks....

A Current Affair - POP-UP vintage marketplace

A Current Affair is a pop-up vintage marketplace that will kick off the night of Fashion's Night Out in Los Angeles and last two days. Held at the Cooper Design Building penthouse in Downtown LA and curated by Joey Grana of Scout and other private vintage dealers, this event is sure to be one to hit. Cost of admission is $10 but I have a feeling that it will be well worth your money. Add this to your FNO plans!
