Louis Vuitton Voyages in Beijing Video

For the new "Louis Vuitton Voyages" exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing, Louis Vuitton released the above animated video.  I will have to say that it is incredibly cute...loving that porter guy!  And definitely a smart move for Louis Vuitton, since the #1 luxury spender in 2010 was the ASIAN (Chinese) male.

From the release:

The "Louis Vuitton - Voyages" exhibition retraces the crowning moments in the history of the Maison, since 1854 - the date when it was established - has beautifully paired form with function, creating travel items that bear witness to the French lifestyle.

The exhibition opened on May 31st and will run through August 30th, 2011.  Wishing I was in Beijing this summer!

NOWNESS presents EVERGLADE: Short Film Featuring Kate Moss and the Art Work of Jo Ratcliffe

When Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot the Fall/Winter 2011 Balmain campaign with Kate Moss, the duo secretly also set up 4 surveillance-style cameras to capture Moss's behavior and movements on set. Overlayed with animated illustrations by artist Jo Ratcliffe, the resulting video, titled "Everglade", is a surrealistic look into an fantasy inner world, blurring the boundaries of reality - in their words ... "half horror and half Disney". I think Lamsweerde and Matadin have brilliantly achieved that balance. With music by Antony and the Johnsons, this is strangely beautiful.

And now, Nowness presents: EVERGLADE. Enjoy.
