Belgian designer and a personal favorite of mine Ann Demeulemeester for Spring / Summer 2013 showed a collection that picked up where she left off for FW12. Intentionally making a point to inject color into the collection, the resulting looks took inspiration from the Orient, showing side-tied silk kimono tops and loose flowing pants - very Silk Road and very opulent.
In her own words for criteria for her own work: "sophisticated, strange, and strong" - this collection is just so chic and so sophisticated. In my mind, the Ann Demeulemeester man will always be a romantic and a sojourner and this collection epitomizes that man.
